Full Description
A number of features dated to the late Iron Age/Roman era were discovered during an excavation that took place over a wide area ahead of road works at junction 2 of the A2/A282. A number of archaeological features were uncovered dating from the neolithic to modern (world war two) eras. In areas A and P (excavation areas to the west of the M25) a field system, a set of discrete pits and several features of uncertain function (most likely pits or hearths/ovens) were uncovered and interpreted as being of the same date.
