Full Description

[TR 39836967] Cropmark (Ring ditch) (1)

There is no surface indication of this ring ditch which probably represents the site of a round barrow. (2)

TR 398696 (sited to nearest 50m) Cropmarks of Bronze Age barrows. Site No.64. (3)

RCHME AP TR 3981 6967, broken ring ditch with small internal feature (4) additional reference. (5)

A ring ditch forming part of a round barrow of Bronze Age date was visible as a cropmark in RAF/HLA/540 RV 6035 17-MAY-1942. A short arc of curved ditch and three small pits were also visible as cropmarks enclosed by the ring ditch. These features were mapped as part of the Historic England Isle of Thanet project in 2024.
