Monument record TR 36 NE 137 - Bronze Age Barrow and v-shpaed ditch, Northdown, Margate

Summary

Cropmarks of a ring ditch and two linear features were identified from aerial photographs. A Bronze Age barrow was partially excavated two weeks ahead of a major housing development at this site. The ploughed out barrow had been enclosed within a broad V-shaped ditch. The central area contained a series of small pits, some containing inhumations and also a decorated beaker.
