Full Description
In 2006 Canterbury Archaeological Trust carried out an evaluation on the site. A broad probably medieval ditch aligned north-south, the full extent of which was not determined, was found to cross the site. It was thought to be perhaps 4 or 5 meters across and at least 0.68m deep. It contained medieval pottery and medieval demolition material in its uppermost fill. This was possibly linked to the demolition of the adjacent White Friars complex. The ditch does not appear on a map of 1787 so had evidently been filled by this date.
A post medieval pit was also found but did not produce any finds of note. (1)
