Middle Bronze Age/Middle Iron Age ditch, hearth pit and small pits, south-west Boyden Gate. In 1994 a watching brief was done on the pipeline for the Herne Bay Water Treatment. In 1995 a report assessing the archaeology of the Herne Bay Waste Water Treatment plan was compiled.

Full Description

In 1994 a watching brief was done on the pipeline for the Herne Bay Water Treatment. A ditch, a hearth pit and two small irregular pits perhaps quarry pits were observed. (1)

In 1995 a report assessing the archaeology of the Herne Bay Waste Water Treatment plan was compiled. Small pottery was recovered from the pits abd broadly dates to the Middle Bronze Age/Middle Iron Age. The adjacent features may or may not be contemporary, but prehistoric occupation is evident. (2)
