Full Description

In 2004 Archaeological Solutions carried out an evaluation and an excavation at Whitstable Community College. A series of co-axial boundary ditches and a number of pits were found dating to the early Roman period. Late Iron Age and Roman pottery and fragments of ceramic building material were recovered from the features. A later phase of activity on the site was evidence by features cutting these earlier elements or having only Roman material within them. (1-2)
