Full Description
In 2011 Wessex Archaeology conducted a geophysical survey of the Chilmington Green development area. At Chilmington Green, linear features were detected as geophysical anomalies. (1)
Later excavation at the site revealed the presence of archaeological features including ditches, some of which dated from the Roman period. A possible urned cremation was excavated from the fill of the potential boundary ditch (TQ 94 SE 243). (2)
