Full Description
In 2003 Canterbury Archaeological Trust carried out an evaluation at Old Park, Whitfield. Three Roman features were found. The first was a small pit containing a large flagon or amphora with a number of associated smaller vessels. This was probably a cremation burial. The other features were a pit or ditch terminal and a broad, shallow pit, both of which contained Roman pottery. (1)
