Full Description
In 2001 Canterbury Archaeological Trust carried out an excavation on Shelford Farm Estate. The area had been truncated by terracing and agricultural activity but a few shallow features had survived. These included pits and possible ditches, often producing residual flints of earlier periods but also Late Bronze Age/Early Iron Age flints and pottery. The activity may relate to a field system associated with the Late Bronze Age/Early Iron Age settlement to the north. (1)
