Full Description
In 2004 Wessex Archaeology carried out an evaluation at the Weatherlees Wastewater Treatment works. Late Bronze Age/Early Iron Age activity was found in two areas. The northern area contained a ditch, several pits, a gully and a complex of probable structural features. The ditch was a substantial feature, probably up to 3m wide and more than 1m deep. The structural features consisted of post holes and irregular patches of burning. The likely form of the structure could not be determined from the small area exposed during the evaluation. (1)
