A small double ditched, cropmark feature has been identified on aerial photographs of fields to the south of Acol. The photographs for the Royal Commission on the Historical Monuments of England appear to show the feature contains a number of pits. The date of the feature is uncertain but several further ring ditch and macula cropmarks have been identified in this area (see TR 36 NW 167 and TR 36 NW 376).

Site identified during transcription of features recorded on air photographs. The cropmarks of two ring ditches have been identified in aerial photographs of Kent taken in 1979. Also faintly visible on the 2007 Google Earth image. (1-2)

These cropmarks have been reviewed and re-mapped by Historic England (2024). A pit of uncertain date was visible as a cropmark in Next Perspectives APGB Imagery 21-APR-2007. It is located beside the north-east arc of a ring ditch (see MKE125912, and see MKE125913 for the second ring ditch, both ring ditches mentioned above). This feature was mapped as part of the Historic England Isle of Thanet project in 2024. It had previously been mapped by RCHME National Mapping Programme (NMP).

The 'number of pits' forming a 'double ditched' feature described above is a misinterpretation of the NMP stipple convention, used to indicate a feature positioned just to the north-west of the pair of ring ditches. (3)
