Full Description

In 2008 Swale and Thames Archaeological Survey Company carried out a programme of works at Neats Court, Queenborough. In one area, a number of pits and ditches were found. The earliest of these was a pit dating from the Middle to Late Iron Age. A gully, a ditch and six pits dated to the Late Iron Age. Three of the pits dated to this phase of activity had been heavily burnt and contained fragments of briquetage. The site was therefore used for salt production at this time. (1)
