Full Description
Between 2003 and 2006 the Kent Archaeological Field School carried out a series of investigations in the area. A farmstead was possibly established in the area in the Late Bronze Age/Early Iron Age. Evidence for it consists of a ditch, a rectangular post-built structures, with flint cobbling to its southwest side, and four large storage pits close by. There were also scattered pits and post holes across the rest of the site, and these may also be of the same date. Pottery from the sampled features suggests a date range for the occupation of c.750-550 BC. (1)
