Full Description

In 2007 a strip, map and sample excavation at Site K on the A2 widening scheme, carried out by Oxford Archaeology, found features of Iron Age date. A large Early or Middle Iron Age pit had a complex sequence of deposits filling it and these may have been instances of structured deposition. Also found were post holes possibly relating to round structures and pits and ditches of Middle-Late Iron Age date. (1)
