Full Description
In 2007/8 Wessex Archaeology carried out a programme of works. An isolated Anglo-Saxon pit was found c.190m east of the large cemetery. The pit was 3m long, 1.5m wide and 0.74m deep. Although no pottery was found within it, pieces of lava quernstone and fragments of annular loomweights were recovered, both of which are typically Anglo-Saxon in date. (1)
