Full Description
During the East Kent Access Route excavations (2009-2011) a group of middle iron age pits were discovered south of the trapezoidal enclosure. Two pits lay adjacent to the southern boundary, one pit was substantial, nearly 2m in depth, neither contained large quantities of datable material but both had exclusively Middle Iron Age ceramics in their fills and quantities of other material comparable to that from the pits of the same date within the enclosure.
