Monument record TR 36 NE 2409 - Bronze Age to iron age features found during 2004 excavations

Summary

During excavations in 2004 carried out at land adjacent to the Tesco Store, Manston Road, Ramsgate, features dating to four periods were found. A hollow way or possibly a drovers track dating to the later bronze age was found together with ditches, gullies and pits. This implied a settlement or occupation post dating the droveway. A series of metalled surfaces together with further gullies and ditches represented early to middle iron age occupation.
