An excavation took place along a proposed pipeline in 2010. TA Romano-British site was observed. A Villa was identified,, the building was rectangular in shape and measured 31m long by 11m wide. 9 walls were remaining forming potentially 7 rooms. A number of ditches were also excated that have been interpreted as draiage ditches. Several pits and postholes were also excavated. A small kiln/oven was found measuring 1.12m by 0.77m, it is likely to be associated with the building. A ewll siuated in the extreme south east f the area was observed, it was xircular in plan. There was also a trackway although the relationship between them is not yet completely clear. There was also a large ceramic assemblage, mainly pottery.
