Full Description
During excavations by Swale and Thames Archaeological Survey Company in 2007 a series of pits, postholes, stakeholes, ditches and a drove way were uncovered indicating division of land between pastoral and arable uses associated with late prehistoric occupation. A roman flint foundation may also have been uncovered.
The prehistoric field systems had previously been recorded in intervention excavations at Highstead, but the herding features of the droveway and internal divisions were a new revelation.
