Monument record TQ 95 SW 144 - Iron Age pottery, probable ditch, and a late glacial fluvial deposit, Glebe Gardens
Summary
During an archaeological evaluation undertaken adjacent to Glebe Gardens two archaeological features were revealed. A probable ditch aligned SW-NE across the east end of the Site contained pottery dating to the late Iron Age. Also established was the presence of an important late-glacial to earlier post-glacial fluvial deposit at the site which may contain or seal below it prehistoric activity from the Lower Palaeolithic through to the Neolithic periods.
