Abstract/Summary
The report details the result of an archaeological and historic landscape desk-based assessment of Tanyard Farm.
From the report: "Wessex Archaeology was commissioned… to prepare an Archaeological and Historic Landscape Desk-Based Assessment of land at Tanyard Farm, Lenham, Kent… This study is intended to support a planning application for the renovation of the existing historic barns and the erection of additional dwellings towards the south of the Site.
The aims of this study were to assess the known and potential heritage resource within the site and the surrounding area, and to assess the likely impacts of the development proposals on this resource.
This study has identified no overriding heritage constraints which are likely to prohibit development.
…The historic landscape assessment has established that the historic landscape character of the Site and the surrounding area is of local significance and therefore low value…The presence, location and significance of any buried heritage assets within the site cannot currently be confirmed on the basis of the available information."
