Monument record TQ 75 NW 411 - 19th/20th Century pits, Quarry Wood Industrial Estate

Summary

Between 24th and 29th September 2015 an archaeological evaluation was carried out on land to the east of Quarry Wood Industrial Estate. A total of 10 trenches were excavated, with 7 yielding archaeological materials. A series of 6 pits which, when sample excavated, contained charcoal, oyster shell, and fragments of 19th/20th Century roofing tile and china.
