These features are reported in the Mangnetometer survey of land at Hen and Duckhurst Farm, Stamplehust by Cgms. The report states:
"The site consists of three level but undulating enclosures to the west of Staplehurst. At the time of survey the land had recently been cleared and is currently under long grass.
Evidence of possible archaeological activity was in general very sparse and included the following described anomalies. A number of discrete moderate positive anomalies may represent cut features such as pits. Howeverm these anomalies may also relate to in filled natural features such as animal burrows and tree root holes.
Areas of magnetic debris may relate to a scattering of near surface ferrous material, ground disturbance or made ground.
A Diploar anomaly is observed. These anomalies may relate to thermoremanent material such as that due to kilns and furnaces or more likely near surface ferrous obects.
A probable service with associated magnetic disturbance is noted to the south of the existing electrical substation. Magnetic disturbance is also noted near the site boundaries.
Conclusions - Evidence for possible archaeological features was limited to discrete moderate positive anomalies. These may be manmade cut features such as pits or infilled natural features. Areas of magnetic debris, dipolar and possible thermoremanent anomalies may indicate made ground". (1)
