Monument record TQ 94 NW 292 - Possible medieval droveway, Charing Quarry
Summary
Following a series of watching briefs and excavations from 1997 to 2013 a possible medieval droveway was revealed. This droveway continued past the edge of the excavation area and a later excavation (in February and March 2014) of the adjacent field revealed it extended in a northwesterly direction a further 35m. Again the droveway extends beyond the excavated area. The feature is wide and shallow and is interpretation as a droveway.
