Full Description

Late Bronze Age circular enclosure with an east-west aligned trackway and contemporary rectangular enclosures to the north. Also surrounded by a dense cluster of undated post holes. The features were first recognised as geophysical anomolies and later recorded during an archaeological evaluation of the site.

Within Area A the clearly identifiable circular enclosure has been evaluated and, along with an east-west aligned trackway provisionally assigned a Late Bronze Age date. This is not unexpected in such an archaeological rich landscape attested to by, among others, excavations carried out by Wessex Archaeology at Cliffsend Farm recording the presence of similar features. It is clear that internal features are also present and, although at this stage undated, the presence of contemporary structures cannot be ruled out. The added presence of contemporary rectangular enclosures to the north would also suggest that the large circular monument is not located in isolation and that Area A may contain Late Bronze Age archaeological remains of some significance. (information summarised from source)

Also surrounded by a dense cluster of undated post holes. (1)

From the report: regarding fired clay found, "some pieces (… three in pit 425, one in ditch 435, one in trackway 219) had possible withy impressions thus indicating the presence of some structural debris". (1)
