Full Description
Two possible Iron Age ditches or gullies were uncovered during an archaeological evaluation undertaken off Bridge Street, Dover. Both features were orientated in a north-west to south-east direction and were parallel with one another at a distance of 0.35 metres and both were filled with a dark brown sand clay. The fill of these ditches contained pottery of an Iron Age date as well as inclusions of CBM, animal bone and some small abraided sherds of Medieval pottery. It is unclear as to whether the Medieval inclusions are intrusive or if the Iron Age pottery is residual. (1-2)
