Full Description

An archaeological watching brief was undertaken by AOC Archaeology Group between 4th and 25th July 2014. The work comprised the monitoring of all groundworks. The natural geology was characterised by a sequence of alluvial layers and sandy loams, which were observed across site. Cutting the natural were a series of ditches aligned northwest-southeast and pits. The upper alluvial layer appeared disturbed, as finds dating from the Roman and post-medieval period were recovered. There were a number of prehistoric, Roman and post-medieval finds.(1)
