Monument record TQ 86 NW 1090 - Possible late Bronze Age trackway, Copperhouse Marshes, Gillingham

Summary

Timberwork of possible prehistoric date identified in three locations by Upchurch Archaeological Group. The remains comprised fragments of round wood hurdle tracks and some small finds of flint, bone and rare pottery. Some of the wood was carbon dated to 3100-2590BP. This may be the remains of a late Bronze Age trackway; a track through the marsh is also shown on a chart of 1835 at this location.
