Full Description
An area of modern day clay extraction incorporating a former quarry, drainage ditches, the remains of a wash plant, the remains of a probable former tramway and an extant sluice gate [1]
An off-shoot paper of a long running research project into the history of cement manufacturing in the South East of England, with particular reference to the railways employed in the industry, was completed in 2020 on the Shorne Woods claypit. (2)
