A concentrated seuence of Late Iron Age - Early Roman activity is represented on the site through a series of ditches (forming a rectangular field system) along with a number of grain storage pits and other contemporary post holes and hollows. A number of small finds were recovered from the fill of these features, as well as a relativly large pottery assemblage suggesting a concentration of activity from around 50 - 100 AD. There is some debate as to whether some of the fragments in the fills were included unintentionally or as the direct result of ritual activity. [1]
