Monument record MWX43149 - Salt extraction site, Wickhambreaux/Stourmouth Valley

Summary

A saltmound and banking, both of probable medieval date, are visible as earthworks on 1940s aerial photography. The bank features may demark sections of an enclosure around the salt processing area. Examination of modern aerial photographs indicates that the features have been levelled.
