Full Description

A military building, possibly a pillbox, is situated on the cliff at the top of the steps leading down to the beach, and located within a larger military site at Kingsgate (MWX43234) and mapped from military aerial photographs taken in January 1941 [1].

The rectangular structure measures 4.5m by 4m and would have been used to control access from the beach inland. It is located 40m to the SW of another small square structure, possibly a pillbox (Mke39681), and the two buildings are presumably associated.

The structure was first visible and was mapped from photographs taken in January 1941 [1]. It is still visible in April 1946 [2] and is gone by April 1950 [3].
