Full Description
Three WWII gun emplacements visible on aerial photography taken in 1946 [1], located in Kingsdown. The bank and ditched emplacements measured 5m x 4m; 4m x 3.5m (with a ditch alongside of 2.5m x 2m); and 3.5m x 2m (with an accompanying ditch of 2.5m x 2.5m) (N to S). The emplacements were located at the coast, between 40m and 21m from the cliff edge. The features were not visible on Next Perspectives photography taken in 2007 [2], and the northernmost feature had been built upon. This site was enclosed by the barbed wire of record MWX43505.
A single gun emplacement (MWX43502) and a collection of five emplacements (MWX43503) lie to the south of this site.
