Full Description

The barbed wire is centred at TR 0874 2741, and forms a right-angle in plan view with a total length of approximately 382m. The northernmost length is aligned NNE to SSW. At its southern end it meets the terminal of an anti-aircraft ditch (Monument Number 1535103). The barbed wire defences then continue WNW to ESE; crossing over the top of a substantial anti-tank ditch (Monument Number 462723). By the time of the vertical aerial photographs of 1946; the barbed wire had been removed. This area was subsequently developed for housing, and the site of the barbed wire now lies beneath the houses of Holly Road, Maple Drive, Beechwood Close, and Elm Road (1-2).
