Summary

Second Wold War anti-tank cubes are visible on aerial photographs of 1941 along the northern side of the New Sewer at St Marys Bay. These features were mapped from aerial photographs as part of the South East RCZAS NMP project.

Full Description

The line of anti-tank cubes is centred at TR 0879 2722, and extends for approximately 194m WSW to ENE. They are contemporary with other nearby Second World War defences, such as a Type 23 pillbox which sits within the line of anti-tank cubes (Monument Number 1535207); as well as anti-aircraft poles (Monument Number 1535076) and an anti-aircraft ditch (Monument Number 1535103) in the open space to the north. By the time of the vertical aerial photograph of 1946; the anti-tank cubes had been removed (1-2).
