Abstract/Summary
This watching brief across a large development area, produced little in the way of archaeological finds. There was some evidence for a possible Roman wall and a flint deposit that may have been the remains of a floor or work surface. There were a number of other undated features, a possible n-s running ditch, a brickearth deposit, a pit and some evidence for postmedieval levelling or brickearthing. All of these possible features were observed during groundworks for a new building and associated office block. The surviving foundations of a row of twentieth century brick kilns were also observed in the north west corner of the site.
