Abstract/Summary
Geophysical survey of 18.7ha at Richborough, Kent. The magnetometer survey employed a FM36 fluxgate gradiometer, the resistivity survey a RM15 resitance meter. Both these surveys traversed the 30m grid squares at a 1m separation. Readings were taken at 1m intervals for the resistivity survey, and for the magnetometry survey were taken at 0.25m.
A magnetic susceptibility survey was also undertaken with samples taken in each of the three fields at 30m intervals along a central transect.
The magnetometry survey demonstrated the best results, revaling a complex settlement infrastructure.
