BF083306 St Augustine's Abbey, Canterbury IC091/022 Reconstruction illustration showing an interior view of the Refectory at St Augustine's Abbey, as it may have appeared in about 1260-1270. The view faces west, with the Abbot's table set on a dais in the foreground. The Refectory at St Augustine's Abbey was constructed in the 1260s under Abbot Roger II. This illustration was commissioned as a part of new external information graphics at the site. PF/SAU St Augustine's Abbey, Canterbury, Kent 443 sheets dating from the early twentieth-century to September 1998 relating to St Augustine's Abbey, its associated buildings and features. The sheets include plans, sections and elevations, photogrammetric elevations of the extant walls, a topographic survey, and records of excavations carried out on the site. A group of sheets provide overlays and corrections to earlier photogrammetric surveys. Some sheets relate to the building of a new museum, a ticket office and caretaker's accommodation, with construction details for the interior and exterior, drainage and sewerage information. Other buildings and features covered include the interpretation centre, the crypt and St Pancras Chapel, sheets for the latter comprising a large number of sketch plans and copies of measured drawings, along with photogrammetric elevations.The collection includes eleven oversized sheets.
