Abstract/Summary
Rochester Excavations 1974-75, p.95-136 A.C. Harrison. Two sites were examined ahead of the widening of Corporation Street. A long section was cut outside the city wall to the north, across the line of nos.11, 13 and 15 Northgate (demolished) and seven trenches were opened on the site of the former 'Rochester Castle' Public House, on the corner of Corporation Street and George Lane. Both sites are on the line of the Roman City Wall. Both sites revealed Roman, medieval and post medieval features.
