Full Description
During archaeological excavations ahead of development at Springhead, evidence of mid-late Bronze Age activity was uncovered. Must of this consisted of a large field system but some possible evidence of Bronze Age occupation within the vicinity was also identified, mainly consisting of pits. The majority of these pits were clay lines, perhaps continuing the tradition established in the Beaker period. most were sub-circular, between 0.5 and 0.85m In diameter and 0.2-0.45m in depth, with straight sides and a flat or concave base.
