Monument record TR 03 NW 148 - Area of probable Bronze Age/Iron Age enclosures and settlement, Cheeseman's Green Area 7

Summary

Archaeological work from 2004 to 2016 across the Cheeseman's Green area found in Area 6 evidence late prehistoric (probably bronze age / iron age) ditch system, an enclosure, pits and post holes. There was also a single round house. In the late iron age / early Romano-British period further enclosures including a large rectangular enclosure with a possible palisade, were established, and a central post-built structure 14m x 7m in size was built. There were numerous scattered features and a cremation was also found.
