Monument record TR 36 SE 829 - Possible Iron Age pit and post holes, Pegwell Bay, Ramsgate
Summary
During an archaeological investigation on land at Court Stair Country Club, Pegwell Road, Ramsgate, Kent, a pit was identified. The fill of the pit contained sherds of Iron Age pottery. Two possible post holes were also uncovered with sherds of Iron Age pottery within the fills. It is possible that this pottery was deposisted in these features in the colluviam and their interpretation is therefore tentative. Several other pit like features were seen across the site but most of these have been interpreted as natural solution hollows as they had a different fill and no associated finds.
