Full Description
Worked flint, two parallel ditches, two gullies, six possible pits, and nine post-holes were identified at the site during an evaluation in 2005. These features are thought to be prehistoric in date.
The two ditches were parallel, measuring 400mm-1.2m in width, and 100-260mm in depth. These features were around 1.5m apart, suggesting that they may have been contemporary and possibly delineated a prehistoric trackway.
One of two gullies was thought to be associated with the ditches, whilst the other has been interpreted as a natural feature. These measured 2-3.2m in length, 500mm in width, and 170-200m in depth.
A series of small pits and post holes were also identified, alongside two flint scatters largely dating to the Bronze Age period, with the exception of a possible Mesolithic bladelet and core. (1, 2)
