Monument record TQ 87 NW 49 - Bronze Age/Iron Age features and cremation burials, Kingsmeade Park, Allhallows
Summary
A number of archaeological features identified during excavations at Kingsmeade Park. These included pits, cut features, ditches and post holes; late bronze to mid Iron Age pottery was found in the fill of some of these features. Three cremations found at the site were possibly Romano-British in date, although no firm dating evidence was identified. Unstratified flint flakes were also recovered.

Full Description
Excavation identified many archaeological features inc. pits, cut features, ditches, pst holes, not all of which were fully excavated. Some of those excavated contained LBA to MIA pottery within their infills. 3 cremations were also found poss. of a Romano-British date but no firm dating evidence was identified. Unstratified flint flakes were also recovered. (1)
