Full Description

The following text is from the original listed building designation:
CASTLE STREET (South East Side) Nos 48 to 58. A mid C19 terrace, not uniform. 3 storeys and basement stock brick. Slate mansarded roof to Nos 48 and 50 and dropped moulded eaves cornice. 1 or 2 sashes each with most glazing bars intact. Brick or stone cills. No 52 has a narrow round-headed blank Early C19 shop fronts except for Nos 54 and 56. No 50 has an interesting later C19 shop front and a flight of stone steps with hand rails. Nos 16 to 58 (even) form a group. (1)
