Monument record TQ 77 SE 176 - Prehistoric to Saxon activity

Summary

A large number of trenches and test pits forming part of an archaeological evaluation revealed a number of discrete areas of archaeological activity dating from the prehistoric period through to the Saxon period. Significant trunction of the archaeological deposits was observed. Most notable was a Romano-British industrial site with a probable pottery kiln, a Late Bronze Age settlement or probable possible funerary site and a possible Late Bronze Age small scale industrial site.
