Full Description
In 2004 Oxford Archaeology carried out an evaluation at East Hall Farm, Sittingbourne. Across the gravel ridge considerable evidence was encountered of occupation and utilisation of the area. Late Iron Age/early Roman activity on the site appears to have consisted of enclosed farmsteads within an agricultural landscape. (1)
In 2007 Oxford Archaeology excavated two areas at East Hall Farm. A Late Iron Age/early Roman field system, a droveway and a hollow way were found. An enclosure may also have been constructed at this time. The system extended beyond the excavated areas. (2)
