An evaluation and subsequent excavation by the Canterbury Archaeological Trust in 2005 found two areas of Late Bronze Age/Early Iron Age activity. The northern area contained pits, post holes, gullies and ditches, probably relating to a series of enclosures. (1) The excavation found evidence of bronze working and also a small cremation cemetery consisting of 4 un-urned cremations and 1 urned cremation together with 3 small pits. The cremations were accompanied by finds of pottery sherds, animal bone and quern fragments. (2)

In 2013 Archaeological Services Durham University carried out a magnetometry survey. A series of interconnected curvilinear enclosures were found across the site. (3)
