Full Description
During an archaeological evaluation conducted in 2015 by Archaeological Solutions, three small pits and a ditch were discovered. One pit contained a sherd of victorian or later pottery, and was concluded to be modern. The remaining pits, and the ditch, were undateable. Although assumed modern due to a lack of archeaological material, it is not possible to conclude with the evidence available.
In June and July 1015 and archaeological evaluation was carried out on land at the North School, Ashford following a planning condition attached to a proposed residential development. A total of 7 trenches were excavated. Trench 3 revealed three small pits, and a ditch, one of the features was modern, and the remaining features were undated.Four archaeological features were recorded in this trench. Three were undated and one was modern. One of the undated pits contained a modern iron fragment (11g) and slag (23g). (1)
