Full Description
During an archaeological evaluation in 2012, evaluation trenching uncovered two small ditches, a pit, and two possible post holes within the same trench. No artefactual material was recovered from these features. A total of 101 trenches were excavated during the evaluation trenching, 10 of which contained archaeological remains.
The pit contained three separate fills, one of which comprised of a thin lens of burnt clay, charcoal and shell. The two possible post holes appeared to have been partially pack with ragstone fragments.
Although containing several archaeological features, not enough artefactual material was recovered to securely date any of them. The features appear to be characteristic of temporary agricultural activity rather than prolonged occupation or industrial usage. (1)
